Karcher - EDI Business Analyst

Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Retail, the EDI Business Analyst-Project Coordinator is the business process owner for Kärcher North America’s end to end process related to customers and suppliers that are transacting with Kärcher via EDI.  This position manages the process of onboarding customers and suppliers for all business units including the coordination of all activities to be carried out by the cross-functional team, monitors Retailer compliance and coordinates remediation when required, and is first level support for any issues identified related to a customer or supplier that is transacting with Kärcher North America via EDI.
The EDI Analyst-Project Coordinator is accountable for the accurate and timely onboarding of new customers and suppliers, including the management of data collection, EDI determination, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). The EDI Coordinator must lead the onboarding process in a collaborative manner, working closely with customers, suppliers and all relevant internal stakeholders such as Sales, Supply Chain, Customer Care, Master Data Management, Finance and IT.
The EDI Analyst-Project Coordinator is also accountable for measuring and reporting EDI performance, and for developing actions plans to continuously improve process performance that meet or beat industry benchmarks.  This role is also responsible for monitoring EDI related emails, support tickets, requests and hypercare, vetting requests, identifying, tracking, assigning and working towards the timely resolution of EDI full business processes.   
This position works in close partnership with the business on trading partner relationships and requirements gathering for new onboards and account maintenance with vendor portals, as well as with the EDI IT team on maps, errors, support, warehouse team for label requirements and testing, and accounting on invoice data.

  • Lead the customer and supplier EDI onboarding processes, ensuring timely and quality onboarding in accordance with the targeted timelines.
  • Define, document and maintain the EDI onboarding processes for customers and suppliers.
  • Measure EDI onboarding process performance, ensuring customer satisfaction.  
  • Measure EDI service delivery performance, including onboarding and ongoing operations.  
  • Address and resolve issues in an urgent manner appropriate to the situation.
  • Identify and lead the delivery of EDI process improvements.
  • Keep current with EDI technology trends.
  • Determine the Total Cost of Ownership for EDI, and provide recommendations to optimize cost.
  • Responsible for setting up SAP test environment in preparation for UAT (e.g., customer, material, stock, pricing, etc.).
  • Cultivate a customer-centric environment that anticipates, and aggressively and positively responds to change.
  • Proactively schedules and leads meetings with customers, suppliers and external stakeholders to ensure EDI services are established in a timely manner, are reliable and meet mutual business objectives.
  • Highly organized, ability to make decisions based on priority, volume, partner timelines and resource availability. 


  • University degree in the field of computer science, information systems, engineering or business administration is preferred.

  • 2+ years of relevant experience working with EDI partners and a major ERP system, preferably SAP.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of EDI business processes and technology.
  • Knowledge of EDI standard transaction types and end to end EDI processes.
  • Experience working with EDI providers such as OpenText, SPS, CHUB, or other similar companies.       
  • Ability to design, manage and optimize business processes.
  • Knowledge of master data concepts and best practices.
  • Experience with SAP is required.
  • Project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects/priorities.
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative group
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite of products, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS Visio, the internet and project management software
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly complex matrix organization
  • Superior customer relationship skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and align key stakeholders.
