The Information Technology Director, Global Product Organization will provide strategic and transformational leadership for all aspects of information systems in support of the Global Product and Strategic Sourcing Organizations. This role supports, and sits on the staff, of the Regional CIO, Global Product Organization as she leads an organization driven to deliver product leadership to the organization’s regional operating units.  
Whirlpool is looking to further align its IT organization to its largely regional, market-focused business model, giving regional groups more authority and autonomy to support the business and, at the same time, leveraging Whirlpool’s global scale. This strategy allows them to move with greater speed to better serve their trade customer and end consumers around the globe. In this context, information technology (IT) is no longer simply a utility or an enabler. On the contrary, IT is an increasingly business critical function, and increasing levels in IT investments will be truly fundamental to the success of the business. Whirlpool is increasingly manufacturing smart appliances. With the creation of more technologically advanced products, tighter alignment and support for the global engineering/product organization will be crucial. 
The Information Technology Director, Global Product Organization will lead key relationships with external service providers, strategic software suppliers, and the evolving ecosystem of IoT participants (e.g., Google, Amazon, Apple, IBM, etc) around product life cycle management, connectivity, and analytics. The Information Technology Director, Global Product Organization will be expected to develop a strategic IT plan in support of GPO (including connected services) and GSS, and contribute directly to a global IT strategic plan, while ensuring the proper people and processes are in place to execute this plan. Whirlpool operates in a matrix model, and this role will require strong alignment with regional peers in GIS as well as the Global Product and Strategic Sourcing Organizations. This is a highly strategic and business critical role, as it will enable research and engineering and strategic sourcing organizations to continue to take full advantage of the new and innovative technologies as it fulfills its product leadership ambitions. Whirlpool seeks an exceptional IT leader who can drive transformational change and performance with the capability to move into an expanded leadership role.
Principal Responsibilities:
Lead Whirlpool Corporation’s Information Technology Global Design Centers for Engineering integration, Product Development and Global Strategic Sourcing, ensuring that programs and initiatives align to enterprise objectives and strategies. 
Collaborate with business leadership and the IOT Cross Functional Team to develop ecosystem relationships globally to achieve our product leadership goals in connected appliances. 
Lead IoT platform development, implementation, and operations with appropriate architectural flexibility, API based integration, security, analytics and product control capabilities.

Ensure business strategy is followed with compliance to standards and by adopting the right technology at the right time.

Collaborate with other GIS Leaders in the development and execution of the Digital Strategy (including Data Analytics) in support of the company’s global imperatives.

Implement and sustain best practices in Agile software delivery and support.
       Act as advisor to internal customers at all levels by evaluating and identifying appropriate technology platforms to deliver on the organization’s objectives.

Communicate to leadership consistent program messages, plans and directions.

Attract, develop and retain talented people, coaching for success, feeding robust succession plans and contributing to the overall global IS talent pool.

Foster a continuous learning culture integrating the fast paced technology trends with business needs.

Deep understanding of product development, product lifecycle management, global sourcing and quality management processes with a minimum of 10 years of experience in IT leadership or management consulting, gained at highly respected organizations known for best practice, business value delivery, preferably in the manufacturing, consumer or high tech industries. 
Excellent business acumen and deep knowledge of the entire value chain with deep experience in leveraging technology to enable the business strategy. Proven experience in driving change and the successful execution of business strategies to realize desired business outcomes.

Capable of advancing to the Regional CIO role.
Critical thinking skills that allow him/her to effectively challenge and bring innovative solutions to the business, including transformational programs that move beyond the back office to include customer and marketplace impacting initiatives. 
Demonstrated success creating high performance teams and achieving extraordinary results in a multinational, multicultural environment. A track record of recruiting, developing and retaining talent that is sought out by and exported to other parts of the company. 
A bachelor’s degree is required. An advanced degree in business management or other applicable field is preferred.
